Gobblet Gobblers
Gobblet Gobblers yet another brilliant game included in the curriculum kits for the Timberdoodle company. This particular game is included in the Kindergarten kit, but it is a great game for all ages.
We decided to order this game after seeing it on their website and thinking it looked like lots of fun.
One of my kids favorite games is tic-tac-toe and that's exactly what this game is but with a twist. Gobblet Gobblers combines the game of tic-tac-toe with the added challenge of nesting dolls. When we decided to homeschool we learned the importance of critical thinking skills and this game is perfect way to work on those skills and a fun and engaging way.
The Gobblet Gobblers game comes with
4 bars to build a playing board
12 playing pieces called Gobblers
(6 blue and 6 orange)
The object of the game remains the same be the first person to line up 3 pieces in a row. The way to do that though is just a little bit different. On your turn you have a few options you can place one of your gobblers in any open space, you can put one of your bigger gobblers on top of one of your opponents or you can move one of your already placed gobblers to another spot. You have to be careful when moving pieces though because if one of your opponents pieces are under yours when you move it you just might give your opponent three in a row. You play until someone wins there are no ties in this game.

The game sets up quickly you just have to connect the 4 bars to create the tic-tac-toe board and your ready to play so you can play almost anywhere.
If you are like most moms no matter the age of your kids you have a "mom purse" . I discovered that the pieces all fit nicely inside a ziplock bag so it's convenient to take everywhere. Which is nice when you need a way to keep the kids quiet and entertained but you don't want to just hand your kids a device.

We all really loved this game and loved the extra added critical thinking skills with the extra element of the gobblers. It really is an all ages game that will result in lots of laughter and serious competition between everyone. As far as games go this one is fairly inexpensive and when you order from Timberdoodles you earn doodle dollars to use toward future purchases. Give this game a try you will not be disappointed and most likely have a new favorite family game.
